Writing About Sexual Trauma: Safety, Prompts, and Tools (PTSD)

Hi, I’m Leif E. Greenz. In this video, I’ll discuss how to write about sexual assault safely and effectively. This video does NOT contain graphic descriptions of assault and should be safe for most survivors to watch.

In today’s video, I’ll start by discussing two examples of sexual assault in writing and analyze why some approaches work and some don’t. Who can write about sexual assault and why?

Next, I’ll explain how people with PTSD (or C-PTSD) can write about sexual assault without retraumatizing themselves. The writing tricks you’ll hear about in this video include surrealism, repetition, detachment, and metaphor.

If you have any questions or want to share your experiences with writing about rape, feel free to leave a comment below and I’ll be sure to write back!

Can Hair Dye Cure PTSD Symptoms? (C-PTSD Recovery)

Don’t forget to subscribe to my channel!

Hi, I’m Leif E. Greenz. In today’s video, I’ll be talking about why I dye my hair during complex post-traumatic stress disorder (C-PTSD) episodes, aka mental breakdowns. I’ll also give an overview of alternate rebellion, a dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) skill for borderline personality disorder (BPD).

Super sorry for the background noise. My computer was stressed and calling for help lol. But hey, I sorta figured out how to include photos!

WHAT IS TOXIC EMPATHY? (BPD Relationships)

Hi, I’m Leif E. Greenz. In today’s video, I’ll be talking about how borderline personality disorder (BPD) and complex post-traumatic stress disorder (C-PTSD) can lead to what I call “toxic empathy,” which is essentially empathy that doesn’t serve you — or worse, empathy that destroys you.

I’ve notoriously made friends with lots of shady characters who use, abuse, and exploit me. Why? What is it about toxic people that PTSD and BPD sufferers are so drawn to? Today, we’ll set out to find the answers.

In the second half of the video, I’ll discuss how to make room for healthier relationships. I’ll also introduce the dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) concept of relationship circles and help you decide which relationships should go where.

Thanks for watching. Please feel free to ask any questions or submit video requests in the comments and I’ll be sure to reply.

PTSD and Extreme Sensitivity (C-PTSD Symptoms)

Hi, I’m Leif E. Greenz. In today’s video, I’m talking about PTSD and extreme sensitivity.

Are you a highly sensitive person? Do you overanalyze body language and take harmless comments the wrong way? If so, you’re in good company.

Having borderline personality disorder (BPD) or post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is often compared to having no skin. What this really means is that we don’t have the proper boundaries in place to protect ourselves against what other people do and say.

Today I’ll be sharing some of my personal experiences with excessive sensitivity. I’ll talk about how easily I give up due to hurt feelings. I’ll end with a discussion of how I bounce back when I want leave this planet entirely.

I may be too sensitive for this world, but that won’t stop me from fighting to survive.

Comments? Questions? Concerns? Sound off in the comment section and I’ll be sure to get back to you.

The Borderline Personality (BPD) Poem

Hi, my name is Leif E. Greenz and this is “Borderland,” a poem I wrote in 2016 about my borderline personality disorder (BPD) diagnosis. I honestly believe BPD is most often a misdiagnosis of complex post-traumatic stress disorder (C-PTSD), but more on that later!

Read the full poem below:

Borderline, borderland,
Lamictal, speed, Citalopram,
I love my crook psychiatrist.
$160 for five minutes,
a white slip,
and a glance at his green class ring,
the gaudy prick.
I’m fused with him.
One day of missed doses means
smashed dishes,
new ex-boyfriends,
and a cross carved on my stomach.
Doc says I’m Satan incarnate
and he is my gas-masked angel
wielding a morphine syringe.
He is my hero,
my healer,
my watering hole.
And I am his Kool-Aid drinker.

Borderline, borderland,
bipolar diagnosis.
Doc adds it to the list:
dysthymia, PTSD, majorly depressing
outlook on everything.
A razorblading, sex-fiending, self-sabotaging Eris
with a sad boy complex,
leaving chemtrails of
motherfucking
Freudian bullshit.
Sheep-eater,
straight-edger,
hip hopping hypocricist
spitting dip drip from cracked lips.
Leif,
hyperventilating she-beast with tattoos and Timberlands,
Iron Man,
psychopath,
they see right through me.

PTSD and Obsessive Thinking (C-PTSD Symptoms: Rumination)

Hi, I’m Leif E. Greenz and I struggle with obsessive thinking.

Rumination: What is it? Why do we do it? How can we stop? This video covers the basics of rumination and how it relates to post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and borderline personality disorder (BPD).

Intrusive thoughts can be extremely destructive, but there are plenty of ways to fight them. I’ll review different dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) skills you can use to calm your ruminations. I’ll also share my theories on why we ruminate. If you enjoyed this video, be sure to subscribe to my channel for regular updates!

PTSD is ruining my life

Hi, my name is Leif E. Greenz and I’ve changed platforms! My new YouTube channel focuses on the same subjects as this blog, but the video format gives me the opportunity to be more vulnerable than ever before. I’ll be using Big Mouth to post regular updates about my channel. If time allows, I’ll try to post the occasional blog, too!

Are there any subjects you’d like me to write about? Let me know in a comment or email me at leif.e.greenz@gmail.com ❤

This video is meant to provide an overview of where I’m at and what you can expect from my channel. I talk about being a “stay-at-home crazy person,” chronic unemployment among the mentally ill, and suicide rates in those with C-PTSD. This video the first in what I hope will be a longer series about living with debilitating mental illness.
