6 New Tricks to Stop a Mental Breakdown (C-PTSD Dissociation)

Hi, I’m Leif E. Greenz and welcome to the first episode of my new series, Toolbox Tuesdays!

Do you suffer from severe dissociative episodes, flashbacks, or general mental breakdowns related to borderline personality disorder (BPD) or post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)? Today you’ll learn six simple tricks for stopping your breakdowns in their tracks.

These methods include adjusting your body temperature with ice and water, intensely exercising, dying your hair, painting your face, hanging out with animals, and grounding yourself by literally getting on the floor.

These tricks are specifically designed to help folks with BPD and PTSD, but anyone can benefit from them!

The DBT (dialectical behavioral therapy) skill I draw from in the first half of this video is called TIP — temperature, intense exercise, and paced breathing. I’ll show you the most effective ways to implement this skill during a severe mental health crisis.

Thanks so much for watching! If you have questions, concerns, or ideas for future videos, leave a comment down below. I would love to hear from you!

BPD vs. C-PTSD: The Problem with Borderline Personality Disorder

Hi, I’m Leif E. Greenz and in this video, I’ll explain the difference between BPD vs. C-PTSD. I’ll divulge why I reject my BPD diagnosis in favor of C-PTSD, or complex post-traumatic stress disorder. I’ll give a brief overview of what BPD is and where it came from, tying it in with the history of Freud’s “hysterical woman.”

Have you been diagnosed as borderline? Have you also experienced prolonged abuse — whether it be emotional, physical, or sexual? If so, this video is for you.

What’s your take on BPD vs. C-PTSD? Let me know down in the comments. If you have any questions or ideas for future videos, I would love to hear from you!

PTSD and Extreme Sensitivity (C-PTSD Symptoms)

Hi, I’m Leif E. Greenz. In today’s video, I’m talking about PTSD and extreme sensitivity.

Connect with me on Instagram @leifegreenz

Are you a highly sensitive person? Do you overanalyze body language and take harmless comments the wrong way? If so, you’re in good company.

Having borderline personality disorder (BPD) or post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is often compared to having no skin. What this really means is that we don’t have the proper boundaries in place to protect ourselves against what other people do and say.

Today I’ll be sharing some of my personal experiences with excessive sensitivity. I’ll talk about how easily I give up due to hurt feelings. I’ll end with a discussion of how I bounce back when I want leave this planet entirely.

I may be too sensitive for this world, but that won’t stop me from fighting to survive.

Comments? Questions? Concerns? Sound off in the comment section and I’ll be sure to get back to you.

The Borderline Personality (BPD) Poem

Hi, my name is Leif E. Greenz and this is “Borderland,” a poem I wrote in 2016 about my borderline personality disorder (BPD) diagnosis. I honestly believe BPD is most often a misdiagnosis of complex post-traumatic stress disorder (C-PTSD), but more on that later!

Read the full poem below:

Borderline, borderland,
Lamictal, speed, Citalopram,
I love my crook psychiatrist.
$160 for five minutes,
a white slip,
and a glance at his green class ring,
the gaudy prick.
I’m fused with him.
One day of missed doses means
smashed dishes,
new ex-boyfriends,
and a cross carved on my stomach.
Doc says I’m Satan incarnate
and he is my gas-masked angel
wielding a morphine syringe.
He is my hero,
my healer,
my watering hole.
And I am his Kool-Aid drinker.

Borderline, borderland,
bipolar diagnosis.
Doc adds it to the list:
dysthymia, PTSD, majorly depressing
outlook on everything.
A razorblading, sex-fiending, self-sabotaging Eris
with a sad boy complex,
leaving chemtrails of
motherfucking
Freudian bullshit.
Sheep-eater,
straight-edger,
hip hopping hypocricist
spitting dip drip from cracked lips.
Leif,
hyperventilating she-beast with tattoos and Timberlands,
Iron Man,
psychopath,
they see right through me.
